Cuba Cup 2009

There have been 6 races so far and the standings for the Captains are as follows -
Larry/John - 31 points, Jack/Carolin - 30 points, Dave/Dan - 18 points, The races are every other Wednesday and there are three races left which are Wednesday July 29th , Wednesday August 12th and Wednesday August 26th. We meet in the Yacht Club which is above Springbok at 5 pm where the Captains are assigned the sailboat they will be racing. Please join us for the fun and bring some friends and family along with you. Call us at (562) 590-0323 and let us know you're on your way. We hope to see you there!

The Transpac 2009 was one of the most incredible event to see. It is a race that takes place ever 2 years that goes from Long Beach to Hawaii. There were three different classes of Sailboat with the first class leaving on Monday June 29th, the second class leaving on Thursday July 2nd and the last class which was also the fastest class leaving on Sunday July 5th. This race can take anywhere from 7 to 15 days and this year the Alfa Romero set a new record and finished in 5 days. There were a few member and friends that went out to watch the start of this race which was amazing.
Rumor has it that in 2011 there might just be a few of our own participating.

WAHOO!!!! The summer racing series at Pacific Sailing is about to begin.

The first race is Wednesday May 6th, and they will be every other Wednesday through August 26th. Mark your calendar for a chance to participate in all of the fun.

Race sign ups start at 5:00 PM in the Yacht Club. Captains & crews will be assigned at 6:00 PM. Sailors and non sailors are equally welcome to join us.

No offense to our Captains that have participated over the years, but it would be nice to see some new names in the mix. If you can’t make all of the races team up with someone who can cover the days that you can’t make it. Make sure that it is someone that you like because when both of you are there you will be on the same boat. Come on Larry Palmer, Jamie Royer, Ted Lavino (you all know Ted, right?). How about the first husband and wife team in Cuba Cup history….Roneale & Robert Branning or Jack & Carolin Lusby?

FUN is had by, hope everyone can join us.
